![]() ![]() Whether these names all actually ended in "a" is another matter, but it is clear that in many cases one may substitute "e" for "(i)a" and still have just as valid a name: Felicia => Felice Amicia => Amice (and later, Amy), etc. You will note that many of the femine names end in "a", which is merely the most common nominative feminine ending. When the names were rendered into Latin in charters, often they were changed to make them fit the language. ![]() Names of great leaders or heroes (Constantine, Alexander, etc) seem to have also been used for males, though not as frequently as saints' names. You will notice the popularity of saints' and Biblical names for both sexes. The male names Roger and Simon and the female names Juliana and Matilda are good examples of this while none of these names dropped completely out of use (though Matilda nearly did), they became far less frequent in later centuries after rivaling the Williams, Richards, Cecilys and Joans for popularity in the Anglo-Norman period. Furthermore, the popular names in the 13th century did not necessarily maintain their popularity in later years. While certain of these were more popular than others, they did not dominate naming practices to the extent that names such as John, Thomas, Richard, and William for guys and Anne, Elizabeth, Cecily, and Margaret for girls did in later centuries. While this is indeed true for the later medieval period, the Anglo-Norman period (which lasted from the Conquest on down to the beginning of the fourteenth century or so) provided a much larger variety of available and relatively common personal names. It is a common misconception that medieval English naming practices centred on a relatively small number of personal names. The former sixth-round pick played in five games before suffering a season-ending biceps injury. With Jenkins still on the mend, Hanson received his first NFL start in last year's opener against Minnesota. Other offensive linemen who return include former 2022 draft picks Sean Rhyan and Rasheed Walker, third-year center/guard Jake Hanson, and tackle Luke Tenuta, a former sixth-round pick by Buffalo whom the Packers claimed off waivers from Indianapolis last October. A three-year starter at Indiana, Jones was elevated to the Packers' 53-man roster during the first month of the season but didn't play in a game. The massive Jones came to Green Bay as an undrafted free agent last summer. When Bakhtiari and Jenkins sat out of team periods in the spring, tackle Caleb Jones and former fourth-round pick Royce Newman were typically the next linemen up at their respective positions. Versatility was what first attracted the Packers to the 6-foot-4, 304-pounder, who played both center and left tackle during his three years as a starter at Wake Forest. Tom played everywhere as a rookie while serving as the primary backup at virtually every position on the offensive line. The former undrafted free agent finished the year with career highs in both offensive snaps played (756) and starts (13). Nijman, playing on a second-round restricted tender, began last season in a platoon at left tackle with the returning Bakhtiari before shifting to right tackle. The position entirely up for grabs at the moment lies at right tackle, where Nijman and Tom rotated throughout the offseason program. His 50 consecutive games played are tied with Yosh Nijman for the longest streak among Packers offensive players. The dependable Runyan has garnered the praise of Head Coach Matt LaFleur and former quarterback Aaron Rodgers for his consistency and durability up front. The Packers have floated the possibility of 2022 fourth-round pick Zach Tom competing with Myers for the center job, but the former Ohio State standout worked exclusively with the starting five in the spring. Third-year center Josh Myers and fourth-year right guard Jon Runyan are the favorites at their respective positions after being the only Packers O-linemen to start every game last season and play more than 1,000 offensive snaps. Now that we've found an expression for time, we can at last plug this value into our expression for horizontal distance.Īnd lastly, use the trigonometric identity: Now, plug this expression into the above kinematic equation. Since the electric field is pointing from the positive terminal (positive y-direction) to the negative terminal (which we defined as the negative y-direction) the electric field is negative. We can do this by noting that the electric force is providing the acceleration.Īlso, it's important to remember our sign conventions. We also need to find an alternative expression for the acceleration term. Just as we did for the x-direction, we'll need to consider the y-component velocity. Also, since the acceleration in the y-direction is constant (due to a constant electric field), we can utilize the kinematic equations.Īnd since the displacement in the y-direction won't change, we can set it equal to zero. To do this, we'll need to consider the motion of the particle in the y-direction. Our next challenge is to find an expression for the time variable. We'll need to find the x-component of velocity. ![]() We'll start by using the following equation: That is to say, there is no acceleration in the x-direction. It's also important to realize that any acceleration that is occurring only happens in the y-direction. However, it's useful if we consider the positive y-direction as going towards the positive terminal, and the negative y-direction as going towards the negative terminal. Therefore, the only force we need concern ourselves with in this situation is the electric force - we can neglect gravity. Since this frame is lying on its side, the orientation of the electric field is perpendicular to gravity. We are being asked to find the horizontal distance that this particle will travel while in the electric field. In this frame, a positively charged particle is traveling through an electric field that is oriented such that the positively charged terminal is on the opposite side of where the particle starts from. ![]() ![]() ![]() After the first 70 episodes, things begin to get lot more interesting really fast. The main strength of the series is its characters, who drive the plot (which we will discuss in detail later). Now that we got the flaws out of the way, let's talk positives. Once the series kicks it into high gear around 70th episode, it mostly manages to keep that pace up. But even then some of these episodes might be below par for your taste. If you're into characters chilling down and wasting a lot of time, this may sit well with you. This is mainly only an issue at the start of the series. Aside from what I've said above, even some of the non-filler episodes are very slow paced. The fact that filler can't move the plot along fuels the second big flaw. Some of the filler episodes can be genuinely enjoyable but those are few and far between. This is worsened by the below par writing for these filler episode as they are not written by the original author Masashi Kishimoto himself. So mostly what we get is poorly written mini-arcs and episodes that don’t affect any of the characters or the world in any significant way. This being a mainly character driven plot, this becomes a huge issue because any significant event in fillers could affect the characters so they can't move ahead the plot line at all. The issues that lies within the filler episodes is that they are not allowed to make any significant changes to the story or specifically its characters. ![]() ![]() It counts as 219 total filler episodes which make up 44% of the series as a whole. The amount of filler in this show is staggering. The story is mainly hampered (not ruined) by fillers and pacing issues which I will discuss below. Down the line this is series deals with more mature themes and darker tones and manage to execute well on most of those themes if not all. And the story then on is presented in a collection of long well constructed story arcs with the bigger picture stories of Sasuke and the Akatsuki being told parallelly till a certain point. The series eases you back into the world of Naruto with a slow paced, almost SOL like first few episodes. It starts off where the first part of Naruto ended and the very first scenes gives us a sneak peak of things to come. It's unpredictable, it's thrilling, it plays with your emotions, it's funny, it's tragic, it's sometimes downright frustrating but it is, more than anything, wondrous and fun while being able to take itself seriously when it needs to. But what it is, is beautiful (probably not the word that can be often used to describe a shounen anime), but it really is. While it's not bad, it's certainly no Berserk.
